Women's Basketball Team Conducts Clinic for Access Sports at Neumann University

ASTON, Pa. - Coaches and members of the Neumann University women's basketball team were on court teaching skills and conducting drills with residents from Divine Providence residential facility on Saturday morning, February 4, at the Mirenda Center for Sport Spirituality and Character Development.
The event was orchestrated by students from Neumann's sport and entertainment management club and facilitated by Access Sports. Access Sports provides sports tickets and clinics to social service agencies and schools serving underprivileged children and youth groups as well as individuals with physical or mental health disabilities.
Neumann University's sport and entertainment faculty member, Dr. Andrea Pent, commented “Our clinic for Access participants was a win, win, win, win! Everybody involved had such a great time that day. What a gift!
Women's basketball coach, Frank Farnese, commented, “I think I found someone to play secret Santa for.”
In addition to the on court activities, participants from Divine Providence in Springfield and RecCare, enjoyed a tour of the beautiful atrium of the Mirenda Center, lunch provided by club member and stayed to cheer the Knights to victory over Cedar Crest College.
