Canada national team coach John Hedman has announced the 26-man squad for the World Cup in Qatar . Led by Bayern Munich star Alfonso Davies and Lille’s Jonathan Davey. Canada is participating in the World Cup in Qatar for the first time since 1986 and for the second time.
Canada’s midfield will be led by Porto’s Stephen Ostacchio and veteran Atiba Hutchinson.
Three players originally in the Canadian qualifiers missed the World Cup in Qatar, namely Maxim Krepp, Scott Kennedy and Donier Henry. They both missed the World Cup because of injuries.
Canada, Belgium, Morocco and Croatia are in Group F of the World Cup. Canada will face Belgium in their Group F opener on November 23.
